Re: Public Charging Problems Log

Evening all. Jaguar built a car which s not compatible with the CCS control board on our older chargers. We have tested extensively with them in Barcelona, looking at firmware changes and so on, but to no avail. Newer CCS boards do work though, and some older charge points have had these fitted in t...

Madelvic Rally - 22nd October 2017

EV RALLY - 22nd October 2017 from 1100 at Madelvic House, Granton. Hi folks! I'm working with a community group in Granton based at the former Madelvic factory, Edinburgh (grantonhub.org). We're looking to have an EV rally in late October to promote the enterprise and connect the past to the future....

Calling all i-MiEV experts...

Got a bit of a problem with a car that's in our workshops the now... Vehicle is a 2011MY i-MiEV with just over 12,000 miles on the clock. Identical in all respects to ones on our own fleet, but it will not charge, and it will not start. 12v system checked and all seems to be well. Traction Motor/Bat...

Re: Preston to Glasgow - Journey Planning Help please?

Another tip for the downhills is popping the LEAF into neutral, You'll coast quite happily then can pop her back 'in-gear' when needed. You won't get the regen, but won't slow down a whole lot either, especially if the tyres are pumped up to 40psi or thereabouts for the motorway trip. A comfortable ...

Re: Snow

I want it to snow so I can try out an i-MiEV to see how it copes. I suspect it will be a bit squirrelly, but the skinny tyres and traction control should help. If not, I get to practice my Scandinavian Flick!

Might also be an idea to keep an eye out for 'Switched on @ Work' soon. there could be funding available to help employers fit charging posts for their staff to use.

Re: A wee bit of Edinburgh EV history...

I'm in the process of helping some students create a documentary on EV's - with specific reference to Madelvic and other Scottish innovators. Some time ago I was able to park one of our cars outside for a few photos, and get a shot of the interior. The building is completely derelict and would take ...

Leith to Birmingham

I headed down to the Greenfleet Awards last Thursday (22nd October). And the trip was, well, absolutely routine! There were no massive issues at all, no adventures, no hassles or challenges. Everything worked as it should barring some roadworks and stupidity on my own part. Outbound: So, start time ...

Re: Fife to Manchester and back in a Day

There is a unit I believe in Stirling (and I've had another Zoe owner confirm it works with Zoe), so if I can find an excuse to head there I'll go test that one. If it works then it suggests the car is ok, and that it is something specific between the Zoe and the other Siemens units. It really is a...
