Re: Kona 64kWh

Off next weekend to Cheltenham, with a side trip to Heathrow: that should test the range and functions quite well, I think. Nearly 1,000 miles in 4 days. Looking foorward to it, but a bit nervous of the Ecotricity ones, will try some other rapids.

Re: Public Charging Problems Log

OK, well (see other thread) after six years of Leaf Chademo, we have finally migrated to the Kona CCS standard for our third EV: I'm obviously slightly nervous about some of the reports of Ecotricity chargers both in Scotland and Englandshire failing on CCS. What's your advice: give them a try, or a...

Re: Kona 64kWh

Finally picked up the (ceramic blue) Kona 64 SE today from Hyundai Stirling: long story, but the EST computer lost the application for a loan on 2nd April, and took 8 more weeks to finally process it, with the result that the car stood there for over three weeeks awaiting the finance.. Anyway, she's...

What do I need to check for at pick-up? Two charging cables, obviously. Software upgrades?

Re: Aberdeen(Westhill) to Great Yarmouth(Gorleston)

I've done that trip (or similarish) twice from Kilsyth to Cambridge in the 30 kWh Leaf, and once in the 24 kWh Leaf, and probably charged at least six or seven times each way. But that was in summer. Agree about the A66 , but the weather is a critical factor too. What was the longest leg on one char...

Re: Kona 64kWh

Just got back from 3 weeks in NZ (where I saw many Leafs in the wild, esp. around Wellington and Dunedin) Also one or two nice supermarket car park multiple Type2+rapid charging bays in e.g. Tauranga. Slight delay on the boat from Korea, now arriving 11th March, which means delivery will be 14 days ...

Re: Energy Saving Trust Grants

Hmm, we have these delights to come in March... and yes, its a click to buy Kona. I'm not sure our credit cards will run to £30K !
Might be worth applying for a bank load as Plan B: but I gather EST wont lend money if the car is already owned.
