Re: 75% of Rapids down in East Lothian

https://twitter.com/cllrstu/status/1072188279112564736?s=21 Seemed to be some confusion within East Lothian Council who was actually responsible for the chargers There is no confusion at the Council with those running things and the abandonment then apply for new grant funding strategy. This is jus...

Re: Forthcoming Meeting with Transport Scotland

Our main family car is 24kW Leaf and 2nd family car is a 6 year old Ion that replaced a 9yr old I-Miev. I used to think and feel it was just probably me going about East and Mid Lothian/Borders/Berwickshire in one of these banger BEV's. But in more recent times there is a few of us. A couple of week...

Re: 75% of Rapids down in East Lothian

One local driver I see at the chargers who drives an i3 is adamant they are trading their car in for a PHEV as in their words "I have had enough". I have been trying to persuade them that is madness and talk them out of it, but I see their frustration and concerns, and can understand. Anot...

75% of Rapids down in East Lothian

The public charging provision in East Lothian that largely covers the A1 main route to England is worse than it has ever been and has gone backwards. Be aware the A1 heading to/from England is not great at the moment and plan accordingly. 75% of the Rapids are down (Wallyford/Haddington/Dunbar) whic...

Re: Sweeping Statement Alert

I saw a 2016 i3 plate on the ABB Rapid at Haddington yesterday evening at about 5pm, it had clocked up 1hr 22 mins time of charge. Perfectly normal and familiar i3 charge, I get about and regularly use a lot of chargers mainly all around all the Lothians, North England A1, and The Borders, and aroun...

Massive cut to elec business mileage rates! 4p/mile

WOW this is a shocker. Someone at work today told me about the new 4p per mile mileage business rate for electric cars in the budget, and that it was to encourage Council's to get employees to drive elec. cars or provide elec fleet cars. I actually didn't believe it could be true, until I came home ...

Re: Glasgow Charging Hub?

Is all politics is it not. Scotland can never be like Norway for obvious reasons. We can only be a slightly improved, moderately better version of England. Given the political related restraints, on reflection I have to think Scotland has done quite well. But is it enough? Of course not, not even cl...

Re: EV's in Bus Lanes

Thanks for updating. What really sucks is you never what is going on in almost any Council area. There is just no communication with drivers. The communication channels in elec driving are still at a very basic level, it is essentially driver to driver based communication. We all share what info we ...

Re: Forthcoming Meeting with Transport Scotland

Wasn't the thing with the whitelisting that all the existing cards were being cached into the server or memory for each charger, which reduced networking connection issues? I have also been having a wee bit of bother lately, with one or two chargers and comms issues. Nothing too major, but mildy ann...

Re: Change in plug-in grant

Not sure what cars are in what category? I'd have a bit of sympathy for BMW if their i3 Rex was cut completely from grant eligibility and grouped with the GTE golfs, Outlander and the like. It hasn't really worked to well anyway has it? I couldn't help but feel a bit cynical about the old £5k grant ...
