Interest-free loans up to £3000 for e-bikes

Interest-free loans tallying as much as £3,000 are to be made available to citizens and businesses interested in electric bikes, with applications invited as part of the £500,000 Low Carbon Transport Loan Fund.

No word yet on terms & conditions or how to apply.

Not for individuals - it is aimed at co-operatives and outfits to set up their own schemes... they’re not going to be offering deferred payment schemes for individual purchases as far as I can tell.

Good to see that it has a higher limit for family cargo e-bikes and adaptive e-bikes.

Tks for the link - it wasn’t in my press release. What IS odd, is there anyone who feels £3k is a ‘reasonable’ amount? We may see bikes at that price, but it isn’t the same as a plug-in grant - the purchaser is still paying the full amount. And for a grand or so more, you can get a pre-loved Leaf, Zoe or similar.

There will be an ebike test ride available at Biggar Science Festival on the 22nd of September. Sure they will have something similar at Perth that day too.
