EV Charger Signs

Postby Chunkybuns » Tue Oct 08, 2019 7:58 am

Is it worth petitioning the government to have the road network signs updated to give indication to EV chargers e.g. Dundee hub.

When you are in an area you don't know, relying on a cars sat Nav can be very unreliable and I have been directed via a bus gate in the past.

Given some of the obscure locations local authorities decide to put chargers, surely the road signs should be amended to make finding them much easier.

Also, the matrix signs that show car park availability could also show charger availability to save the now obligatory drive around.

This is currently a work in progress within TS. We have been requesting it for some years now. At our last meeting we raised it again, with general agreement that it should be applied to trunk route road signs by TS, with other routes covered by LAs. We asked TS to create standardised signage for use by LAs. Including electronic info board additions. Car park signs fall under LAs or car park owners.
